| Description |
This session will give students a taste of what life was like for people living in Northampton during the time of the Second World War. |
|
The term home front is used to refer to England, and the war being fought at home. Through the use of original recordings, documents and objects students will experience what life was like for people living through the war years. Topics covered will include, air raids, identity cards, black out, gas attacks and rationing. It is also possible to include a session using our evacuee suitcase to teach students about how children were evacuated from London and big cities to places of safety, including Northamptonshire. |
