Stone cutting axe | |
This axe would have been used for cutting and perhaps to show status by the earliest humans in the Northamptonshire area. Axes like this represent human activity over a long time period covering 40,000 – 9000 BCE. This huge period saw many changes in the environment, encompassing several glacial and interglacial episodes which affected human settlement in the region. |
