This type of pith helmet was worn by the 1st Battalion of the Northamptonshire Regiment in Waziristan where they were stationed from 1936 to 1937. During this time they were involved in the Waziristan Campaign that comprised a number of operations by British and Indian forces against the local independent tribesmen. |
