Research regimental ancestors
If you have an enquiry regarding an individual soldier or are researching family members who served in the Northamptonshire Yeomanry or the Northamptonshire Regiment, we may be able to help. Our volunteer research team can check our records to see if we hold any information. If the individual you are researching served in another regiment or another part of the armed services, then we are unable to help.
We do not hold official individual personal service records of officers and soldiers. The military records of soldiers for before 1920 that survive can be obtained from the National Archives. They also hold the First World War Medal Cards Index and this can be searched for a small fee. The military records of soldiers serving after 1920 can be obtained by relatives from the Army Personnel Centre. They may be able to assist you further with your enquiry but there will be a charge for their service.
For First World War research the Conflict and Community digital archive may be useful.
