Charlotte Ashman
Charlotte Ashman lives and works aboard a pair of 1935 narrowboats on the UK waterways. Born and raised in South Northamptonshire, she grew up surrounded by the region's screen-printing industry and studied Fine Art at the University of Northampton.
After working across sculpture, painting, photography, and community arts, Charlotte returned to printmaking in 2017, teaching herself linocut—a minimal, accessible technique perfectly suited to life afloat. Her work captures the visual story of canal life throughout the seasons, reflecting Britain's transport heritage and the historical details found along the waterways today.
