The Tudor period was a time of great religious change. Henry VIII severed ties with the pope and the country’s religious allegiances changed with every monarch. Catholic or protestant, religion governed almost all aspects of life. Despite this, folklore and tradition still played an important part in everyday life. A number of the panels in this room tell tales of religion and folklore and deliver moralistic messages. |
