De Morgan was a prominent Arts and Crafts ceramic artist. He was greatly successful, selling his ceramic art including his tiles at William Morris’ shop, his own showroom and through commissions. De Morgan designed over 400 hundred tile patterns and the six on display all take inspiration from nature. Five show designs inspired by recognisable flowers, while the ‘Fantastic Ducks’ design takes inspiration from both birds and whimsical creatures. |
