An incomplete silver Groat of Henry VI (AD 1422-1461). First reign. Annulet issue. Long cross reverse with legend in two fields. Calais mint. AD 1422-1427.
A small portion of the outer flan has been clipped between 12-3 O'clock and 9-11 O'clock.
Obverse: [hEnRICxD]IxGRAxREXxAnGLx[FRA]nC
Crowned bust facing, within a tressure of nine arches, annulet to either side of neck.
Reverse: POSVIā—¦/DEVMxA/[DI]VTOR/ExMEVM//VIL/LAx/CALI/SIEx
Long cross dividing the inscription with three pellets in each quadrant, annulet in two quadrants.
Cross 2 initial mark.
