Join us for a portraiture celebration as part of ‘The Power of the Portrait’ exhibition and to mark the upcoming re-opening of the National Portrait Gallery in London.

Hands on activities exploring portraits and portraiture including the opportunity to see local portrait artists in action, photography and clay portrait workshops, face painting, children’s craft activities and short talks / tours led by our volunteers.

A fun filled day for all the family celebrating the power of the portrait. Enjoy the following activities. Note that some may require booking

Creating Caricatures with Pradeep Rajguru
10.30am – 12.00pm
£10 for 1 ticket
Join local artist Pradeep for this fascinating introduction into the world of caricature. This 90-minute workshop will give you the chance to create your very own masterpiece! Using his vast experience as an artist Pradeep will guide you step by step through the process of creating a caricature using photographic and digital references. All materials will be provided.  This class is suitable for all skill levels.
Suitable for adults and children over 12 accompanied by an adult. Booking essential.

Cordell Garfield - Portraits Live!

Join Cordell Garfield, a local professional artist as he paints a new portrait in our Link space.

Clay Faces Workshop for families
1pm - 2pm
Free
Create a face made of clay! All materials provided. Suitable for families and children.

Power of the Portrait tours
10.30am – 11am, 11.30am - 12pm, 11.30am – 12pm, 1pm - 1.30pm, 2pm – 3.00pm.
Join our team of volunteers as they guide you on a 30-minute tour of our ‘Power of the Portrait’ exhibition.

Portrait Face Painting
10am – 3pm.
