Materials:

Any scraps of DK wool in red and black.

4mm crochet hook

Pattern instructions:

Centre of poppy: using black yarn, create a magic loop.

Ch 3 (counts as first tr), 9 tr into loop.

Sl-st into 3rd ch at start of round to join. [10 sts]

Fasten off black yarn. Join red yarn to any treble crochet.

Petals Round 1: Ch 1, 2 dc into each tr of previous round. Sl-st into ch 1 at start of round to join. [20 sts]

Petals Round 2: ch 1, * [1 tr, 1 dtr] into first st, 2 dtr into next 3 sts, [1 dtr, 1 tr, 1 dc] into next st. Repeat from * 3 more times. Sl-st into ch 1 at start of round to join.

Break yarn and fasten off. Weave in all ends.
