Visiting with a group of young people

Teacher and three children looking at oak paneling.

We welcome groups of young people to both of our museums. You can choose either a self-directed visit or a hands-on workshop delivered by a member of staff.

If you wish to visit with a school, college or home-educated group view our leaning pages.

Self-guided visits

A self-guided visit gives your group the opportunity to explore the museum at your leisure. We can provide resources to help guide you around the museum for the best experience.

We request that you book in advance to ensure that we can accommodate your group to avoid overcrowding in the galleries so that everyone has a good experience.

There is no charge for self-directed visits during our opening hours.

Facilitated visits

Our hands-on workshops are themed around historical topics and include a range of original and replica museum objects. The workshops have been designed with young people in mind and can be tailored to the needs of your young people.

Facilitated session topics

Workshop costs vary depending on the topic chosen.
