An Introduction to Portrait Painting in Oils

Cordell Garfield's one day workshop is an ideal introduction to landscape painting in oils. Working from a reference photo provided, a landscape painting will be produced following a step-by-step process.
The process will cover:
• Using oil paints
• Measuring and mapping out key features from the photograph with reference to perspective
• The importance of use of tone, hue and chroma in creating a landscape
• Organisation of a colour palette and approach to painting
Cordell is an experienced painter who will provide demonstrations during the day, with supporting handouts as part of the workshop to explain the techniques and approach involved.
Suitable for beginners and improvers, you will create a landscape painting that you will be able to takeaway with you at the end of the workshop.
