Before wallpaper, leather wall hangings covered the homes of the rich and famous. They were both artistic and functional. This exhibition highlights some of the collection of leather wall hangings acquired by John Waterer and Claude Spiers, the founders of the Leathercraft museum, to represent Leather in life and art. The examples represent 500 years of wall adornments with images of birds, people and animals, gilded and embossed to adorn the walls of the rich and famous.
