Help select our 100th Object
Northampton Museum & Art Gallery is inviting the public to help select the 100th Object for its upcoming exhibition, A History of Northamptonshire in 100 Objects.
This exhibition highlights significant objects that tell the rich and diverse story of Northamptonshire. Now, the final spot is open, and it is up to you to decide which object best represents a modern story of the county in the 21st century. Members of the public have nominated five objects, each reflecting different aspects of contemporary life in Northamptonshire. The object with the most votes will take pride of place in the exhibition when it opens this September.
The Five Nominated Objects:
1. Corby Processions Banner – A symbol of community and activism.
2. 2020 Play-Off Trophy – Northampton Town FC – Celebrating sporting triumphs.
3. Dr. Martens Vegan Boots – Representing Northampton’s iconic shoemaking heritage with a modern twist.
4. Diwali Festival Lantern – Showcasing cultural celebrations in the county.
5. Binty Chick – A nod to contemporary art and creativity.
How to Vote:
• Explore the five nominated objects.
• Choose the one you believe best tells a modern Northamptonshire story.
• Submit your vote by March 31, 2025.
The object with the most votes will be unveiled as the 100th Object and will take pride of place in the exhibition opening this September.
